About This Project+

In 1428 H, a comprehensive study has been prepared for the management of solid waste for a period of 20 years until the year 1448 for each of the:

- King Faisal Military City in Khamis Mushayt

-King Khalid Military City Hafr Al-Batin

The study included the following:

1- Integrated Solid Waste Management

2- Study of management options and waste disposal including: ( Study ways and waste collection - The possibility of reducing the volume of waste in a manner recycling and re-use - Final waste disposal - Develop cemeteries existing in the two cities and recommendations on the choice of suitable sites for health burial in the future )

Results and recommendations of the study:

1. The estimate of solid waste that is handled in the cemetery with the possibility of re-use and the size of it for 20 years until        1448 H and the total area of health burial as follows :

A. King Faisal Military City in Khamis Mushayt

- The daily weight of the waste in 1438   = 76 tons

- The daily weight of the waste in 1448   = 108 tons

- The total area for the burial services for a period of 20 years 255 000 m 2

- King Khalid Military City Hafr Al-Batin

- The daily weight of the waste in 1438     = 136 tons

- The daily weight of the waste in 1448   = 193 tons

- The total area for the burial services for a period of 20 years 425 000 m 2

2-Estimating construction and demolition waste size, which are not taken to deal with them in burial, and that the study recommended throwing in a place far from the burial where it does not have environmental impacts

3- The estimated cost for the establishment of burial and support services, fences and comprehensive system of vehicle access, and for the average cost of operation and maintenance of burial and services
